1:00 - 3:00 p.m. - Lisa Alzo - Internationally Known Family History Speaker & Author presents:
 Publishing Your Family History

Family history tells us who we are and where we come from.

But genealogical records sometimes lack the personal details that
communicate just how interesting families can be.

In this workshop, participants are encouraged to take their research
and turn it into story form. Capture family lore that has been passed down
for generations, describe that uncle who showed
up at Thanksgiving, or recount grandma's cooking.

Travel to the places your family lived and write about what they saw.
The workshop includes writing exercises to create
characters and identify compelling topics.

Adding stories to genealogy can make family history more vivid
and more likely to be read by future generations.

Lisa Ann Alzo has a Master of Fine Arts degree in Nonfiction Writing, and currently teaches online genealogy courses for Family Tree University and the National Institute for Genealogical Studies.  She is the recipient of the 2002 Mary Zirin Prize and is frequently invited to speak at national conferences, and genealogical and historical societies.

Her articles have been published in numerous magazines including Ancestry Magazine, Family Tree Magazine and The Association of Professional Genealogists Quarterly. She is the author of ten books, including "Writing Your Family Book."

Lisa will share different avenues for publishing your family history in her webinar!
